– Weconomics learning-working (WCP) program: data-driven organizing –
Most people spend a large part of the day processing or using data, not only at the office, but also at home, for example. This is in strong contrast to the focus on the question: what exactly are data and how can you best organize the supply and demand of it?
In this learning-working program we show what social-cultural transformation we are in and how data may play the most important role in it. The question that remains is: how data-savvy are you? Issues such as digital waste, non-transparent algorithms, disinformation, fake news, data profiling, power of tech companies and data leaks show that data is not always safely and productively organized and used in the right way.
Furthermore, the problem that at least thirty percent of the total organizational costs is spent on requesting data from other parties. So you can save those costs. That is pure profit. We also know that at least seventy percent of transformation projects fail due to a wrong organizational perspective. This can and must be done differently in view of the social-cultural challenges we face.
More and more organizations are becoming data companies. Organizing data can be much safer and more productive with data-driven organizing with the blockchain based digital assembly line. Experts agree: What the physical assembly line did in factories, the digital assembly line will do in offices. This will significantly reduce costs, complexity, bureaucracy shorten lead times and improve the quality of information. Halving office work within one generation is not a utopia. A conservative estimate shows that in the Netherlands we spend more than 2.3 billion hours unnecessarily in offices every year. That is more than 35% per person. This program prevents digital and thus human waste. This offers scope for organizing social challenges in the areas of: climate change, healthcare, education, inequality, safety, the labor and housing market.
How data wise are you?
A durable, digital and decentral society needs awareness and specific knowledge, skills and behavior, also known as ‘data literacy’. It is important for everyone to have insight into what data are, how we can best organize the supply and demand of it and what the consequences are of the choices we make in this regard. Yet, for many people, data literacy still sounds like a something far away.
In this program you will therefore gain insight into data-driven organizing with the blockchain bases digital assembly and what this means for your future. Considering that IT or your software vendor should look into this is not a good idea. The first ‘misconception’ that we take away is the idea that we should take companies and governments as the starting point and unity of design for automation. The second fallacy is that data and IT are the same and that organizing data is therefore ‘something of IT’. The fact that we are barely becoming more productive, despite billions of dollars of IT investment, shows that this is a bad idea. The third ‘misconception’ is that many organizations think they can organize data with the same operating model as they organized land, labor and capital in the past.
We come from a world in which land, labor and capital were the most important production factors, and now data is added but it is not productive to organized it in the same way as we used to. This means that we no longer organize work with companies as a starting point, but ecosystems, which means that we no longer need own local IT systems, but can use blockchain and a digital assembly line for organizing a shared, secured and accessible reality. In this program you will learn how to develop a new business and operating model for your organization based on the Community Model Canvas.
The Weconomics Certified Program (WCP) is a (non-technical) learning-working program that focuses on organizing a durable, digital and decentral FutureNext with a focus on data-driven organizing, transformational leadership, transforming companies into network organizations, digital transformation, new business – and operating models and data technology. It focuses on the design and development of Minimum Viable Ecosystems (MVE) and the implementation of the digital assembly line. Through this program, participants prepare for the role of entrepreneur, trainer, consultant, business developer, innovation manager or, for example, Chief Transformation Officer (CTO). The program focuses mainly on perspective change and the design side of (office) organizations and consists of an education part where, in addition to knowledge transfer, exercises and cases are made and participants work on their own use case. In addition to this, students carry out projects for organizations or startups. Topics covered include blockchain, rich data, data logistics, internet of things, artificial intelligence, robotics, data science and the digital assembly line.
This program has been nominated by the Dutch Computable magazine as one of the best programs in its field. Both participants and organizations participate in this program. Participants include students, entrepreneurs, freelancers and employees. This mix makes the program very effective. As a participant you follow the educational program and as an organization you provide assignments that are carried out by participants. The program in brief:
- education: 40 lessons of one daypart + homework
- total work load: 5 hours (spread out over 1 year), up to 10 hours per week (six months)
- only (separate) theory lessons are also possible
- open registration: starts twice a year in spring and autumn

What is the result?
Important results for organizations are, for example, setting up an Minimum Viable Ecosystem with a digital assembly line, preventing data leaks, combating (digital) waste and providing added value for the end customer. New organizational designs focus on reducing bureaucracy, complexity, lead times, inequality and costs and on improving transparency, purpose, privacy, quality and trust. Participants prepare for the role of, for example, Chief Transformation Officer (CTO). Afterwards you will be able to set up a transformation program for your organization, customers, suppliers or network and you will be ready to guide others in the transformation to a sustainable, digital and decentralized FutureNext.
We work together with educational and research institutions, the business community, government and society. In this way we build new ecosystems together in which FutureNext transformation really comes into its own.
Why this program?
It is difficult to navigate and make choices in these turbulent times. The greatest danger here is not too much turbulence, but continuing to navigate on yesterday’s dominant logic. Being aware of this is a good start. Subsequently, in this program we will explore together, develop use cases and methodologies and get started with real (digital) transformation, setting up durable, digital and decentral ecosystems and applying the blockchain based digital assembly line. An important reason why we started this program is because regular education (still) pays to much attention to dominant logic and insufficient attention to new contexts, modern organizational science, new business- and operating models and disruptive data technologies. In addition, many organizations have too little knowledge and capacity to carry out a transformation program themselves. With this program, Weconomics offers the FutureNext Innovation Service (Innovation As A Service) and helps organizations with knowledge, experience, networks, subsidies and (software) development.
As a participant you can choose from three variants

- loose theory modules (€ 210,- per module ex VAT, can also be done online/hybrid)
If you want to combine this program with an internship or graduation assignment, select option 1. The client (sponsor) pays for the education and possibly an internship fee and extra supervision. As a client you can already submit an assignment from € 1,000 (via consortium).

Educational attainment: at least university of applied sciences level.
This program focuses on transformational leaders, blockchain leads, organizational designers, business developers, innovation managers, entrepreneurs, consultants, trainers, IT architects, policy makers, researchers and finance, legal, fiscal, facility and HR professionals.
Motivation and entrepreneurship are also important selection criteria. To this end, participants will send a motivation letter on request.
Clients: organizations without their own innovation department and organizations that also want to innovate on the edge or outside the ‘walls’ of their own organization: innovate as a startup without the dominant logic.
This program uses own materials as much as possible, such as books, Roundtable, Community Model Canvas, scenario planning and backcasting, digital waste assessments, Harvard Case Method, Simulation Games, ThoughtExpedition, Community Building Simulation, the Weconomics Knowledge Center and BrainBloc data experience lab.
Education program design
During this program, interactive education is followed, in which the participant, under supervision, undergoes a high-quality curriculum in the field of transformation, setting up ecosystems, data-driven organizing, blockchain and the digital assembly line. The program ends with an oral exam, design assignment, presentation during a mini-conference and if this is assessed satisfactorily, the program ends with a diploma.
This program can also be followed without doing assignments, both as a total education program and in individual modules (one day), as well as in (online/hybrid) theory modules only (one day part). In general, the morning consists of knowledge transfer (this can also be followed online/hybrid) and the afternoon consists of input from a guest lecturer, cases, simulations, exercises and the use of methods, concepts and tools (on site).

A mentor is assigned to participants who sign up for the entire program. Normal supervision (an average of 4 hours per participant) consists of checking assignments, giving feedback and coaching. Additional guidance can be agreed in advance at an additional cost. Participants who carry out commercial assignments can be assigned a mentor/expert in consultation.
Experience exchange and network
There is regular (online) individual and group inter vision during a class day and ones a week online. Here personal experiences are exchanged and related to the assignment. On specific (technical) issues, (external) experts are deployed to spar with.
Completion: proof of participation or (theory) diploma
There are three options to exit the program, with a:
- Proof of participation (signed list of participants, 80% present)
- Theory diploma (proof of participation + oral exam theory part)
- Diploma (theory diploma + assessment assignments)
Ad 3. The program is completed with a theory exam and presentations of the final (design) assignment and completed cases and assignments. If the result is satisfactory, the participant will receive a diploma. If the result is unsatisfactory, the candidate can retake a maximum of one time.
Assessment criteria for the diploma are:
- active participation during lessons and assessment assignments
- theory exam about education program
- assessment written presentation design assignment
- assessment oral presentation design assignment
The final assessment is based on these four components.
Work program set-up
In addition to education, participants can choose to carry out (commercial) assignments under supervision. This can vary from a few days or hours a week for professionals to four days a week for students, for example.
